Robotic handling in production

Flexible industrial robots for your production

Custom-built machinery for production and industry

Industrial robots have become indispensable assistants in modern production. With the right gripper tools and programming, a robot can handle almost any task – from moving heavy parts onto a pallet to placing small components into a machine, either inside robotic cells or in collaborative setups where operators and robots work side by side.

At BV Teknik, we specialise in robotic handling by integrating robot solutions that take over your manual handling tasks – quickly, safely, and with precision.

The result is a flexible production environment where robots work alongside employees, significantly increasing efficiency.

Automated handling increases efficiency

Robotic handling covers a wide range of applications in manufacturing. Typically, a robotic arm can pick up an item in one place and place it in another with great accuracy. This might involve removing finished parts from a machine, transferring semi-finished goods between processes, or feeding components into an assembly or packaging cell. The advantage of letting a robot perform these repetitive movements is that it works faster and more consistently than a human operator.

At the same time, robots can work in environments or positions that may be ergonomically challenging for people – such as high lifts or awkward angles – or in extreme conditions like heat, cold, or cleanroom and sterile environments where continuous human presence is not ideal. A robot can be programmed to handle different part sizes and shapes.

If you need to change product type, the robot can simply be reprogrammed and, if necessary, fitted with a new gripper. This flexibility makes robotic handling a future-proof investment: you can adapt your robot to new tasks instead of purchasing new equipment. In daily operation, the robot can work continuously without breaks, increasing throughput.
In short, you get a more flexible production setup with fewer interruptions and higher productivity.

Key advantages of robotic handling

Implementing robotic handling in production offers a number of significant benefits:

Continuous operation

Robots can operate around the clock, delivering the same performance 24 hours a day if required.

This means you can increase production without adding night or weekend shifts.

Precision and quality

A robot repeats its movements with millimetre accuracy every time. This ensures consistent quality – with no variation due to fatigue or lack of attention.

Products are handled exactly as intended, reducing the risk of damage or defects.

Flexibility

Robots can be reconfigured for new tasks. If you’re introducing a new product variant, we can reprogram the robot and change the gripper so it can handle the new assignment.

The same robot can perform multiple handling jobs over its lifetime.

Fast return on investment (ROI)

Although a robot solution requires upfront investment, most companies experience rapid payback through increased output and reduced costs related to errors and manual labour.

A robot can also operate for many years with minimal maintenance.

Where robotic handling can be used in production

BV Teknik’s robot solutions are already applied in a wide range of industries. Here are a few examples of what robotic handling can include:

Injection moulding

In the plastics industry, we integrate robots with injection moulding machines that produce plastic components. The robot retrieves the hot part immediately after moulding, trims excess material, and places it gently for cooling or further processing.

We design custom grippers to handle even soft or complex plastic parts safely.

This automation saves time and ensures the machine can start the next moulding cycle quickly without manual intervention

Machine tending

In the metal and engineering industries, robots are used to load and unload machines such as CNCs, presses, and stamping machines. For example, a robot can take a raw part from a feed chute, place it in a CNC mill, and once the machining is complete, remove the finished part and place it on a conveyor.

This continuous process keeps machines running at full efficiency without downtime between cycles.

Internal logistics handling

Robots can also act as flexible transporters within the factory. We’ve implemented mobile robots or track-mounted robot arms that move parts between different production stations.

In one case, a robot solution was used to transfer heavy metal parts between testing stations – a task that previously required two operators per lift.

This robot now handles these movements safely and precisely, while operators simply oversee the process.

Palletising and depalletising

In packaging and warehouse areas, robots can stack finished boxes on pallets (palletising) or unload goods from pallets for feeding into production.

We supply palletising robots that use vacuum or finger grippers to arrange boxes or sacks in the desired pattern.

This eliminates heavy manual lifting and ensures stable, uniform pallets ready for dispatch.

Custom-designed robotic solutions for your business

No two handling tasks are alike – which is why we tailor every robot installation to your exact needs. This includes selecting the right type of robot (e.g. six-axis arm, SCARA, collaborative robot), developing the optimal gripper, and programming the robot to perform the sequence precisely as required.

We involve your team throughout the process – you know your product and workflow best, and we know robots – together, we find the smartest and most efficient solution.

At BV Teknik, we thrive on new challenges. While we draw on a wide range of standard modules and extensive experience, we are always ready to innovate and think outside the box if your task calls for a new approach. All key competencies are in-house: from mechanical gripper and fixture design, to control software development, and integration of sensors or vision systems that guide the robot.

The entire process – design, engineering, testing, and installation – is handled by our own team. You’ll have a dedicated project manager ensuring you stay informed and involved, while schedules and budgets are kept on track.
